Beginning the UDL Lesson Plan

Welcome to 2016! I hope you had a wonderful holiday and have had a great time back in the classroom gearing up for the rest of this school year.

It's time to start on developing a Universal Design for Learning lesson plan. You can do this by taking a lesson plan you already have and adapting it, or starting on a new plan. Either way you will need to anticipate doing this plan in your classroom sometime in April or early May.

For this activity you will need to decide on the Florida standard (or standards) you will be addressing in the plan and your instructional goal. That's all you have to do at this point, but remember you will need to implement this plan sometime in April or May. Once you have finished the lesson plan you will be required to upload it so keep that in mind as you work on it. For now you only have to submit the standard(s) and instructional goal.

When you write your instructional goal be sure to use universal language so that the goal is open and allows students to respond to the goal in a variety of ways. Here are the examples we reviewed during the training.
Here is another example.

You can address any standard or standards you choose to and will design your own instructional goal. Submit your response in the form below.
